"Cis" suggests that women not only accept but also identify with their sex-based oppression. It suggests that there is a way "to be" a woman; that there are rules and guidelines to womanhood that we accept and identify with.
And if this is the case, if cis is real, that validates female oppression and affirms sex-based subjugation because it assigns women directly into the “lesser than” category by virtue of being female.
Cis is harmful to women as a whole and needs to be cast aside immediately.
Or, and this may sound crazy, it means they feel like a girl. All the time. And that’s it. No one is going to go “Oh man you know today I really feel like being terrified of being raped. That’d be a hoot.”
The oppression is a completely separate issue that most of us are trying to work on.
What does it mean to “feel like a girl” then?
Because I, and many many other women (women being females) would love to know what it means to “feel like” us.
But that’s not the point here. Nor is your suggestion of “No one is going to go “Oh man you know today I really feel like being terrified of being raped. That’d be a hoot.”“. That’s not what I’m saying.
I’m saying that if "cis" is something real then that means that subjugation, subordination, oppression, abuse, violence, submissiveness, rape culture, assault, etc., are all "just parts of being a woman". Those things are the realities of being women - not because we “feel like” women, because we are females.
Sex-based oppression is a reality. There is no privilege in being a woman.
